College Football Week 7 Betting Odds Preview
A pair of Top 10 matchups highlight the college football schedule in Week 7, starting with an SEC clash between the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide and the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers.
At Bovada Sportsbook, Alabama is a 7-point road favorite. The Crimson Tide are coming off a close 24-20 win over the Texas A&M Aggies as 24.5-point favorites. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young missed that game with a shoulder injury and he remains questionable this week. As a road favorite, Alabama is 10-1 straight up in its last 11 but only 5-6 against the spread.
Tennessee is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS following last week’s 40-13 over the LSU Tigers as a 2.5-point favorite. The Volunteers have won five straight at home with a 3-2 ATS record, but as a home underdog they’ve lost six straight while going 1-5 ATS.
Last season, Alabama defeated Tennessee 52-24 as a 25-point favorite. Alabama has won 15 straight against Tennessee with an 11-4 ATS record.
UNDER has been strong play in Michigan home games
The other Top 10 matchup is in the Big Ten where the No. 5 Michigan Wolverines host the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions as 6.5-point favorites.
Michigan is coming off a 31-10 win over the Indiana Hoosiers, failing to cover as a 23.5-point favorite. At home, Michigan has won 11 straight at 8-3 ATS. The Wolverines have been a solid UNDER bet with a 5-0-1 UNDER record in their last six and an 8-2-1 UNDER mark in their last 11 at home.
Penn State is coming off its bye week, having gotten past the Northwestern Wildcats 17-7 as a 25.5-point favorite two weeks ago. The Nittany Lions have been solid on the road lately with a 7-2 ATS record in their last nine. As a road underdog, Penn State is 2-10 SU and 6-6 ATS in its last 12.
Last year, Michigan defeated Penn State 21-17 as a 2.5-point road favorite. In their last 10 home games against the Nittany Lions, the Wolverines are 8-2 SU and 6-4 ATS.
Cowboys, Horned Frogs collide in battle of unbeatens
One other notable ranked matchup on tap this weekend is a Big 12 clash between the No. 8 Oklahoma State Cowboys and the No. 13 TCU Horned Frogs. At Bovada, TCU is a 3.5-point favorite.
TCU is undefeated on the season at 5-0 SU and is 4-0-1 ATS after getting past the Kansas Jayhawks 38-31 as a 7-point favorite last week. When favored, the Horned Frogs have won five straight with a 3-1-1 ATS record.
Oklahoma State is also 5-0 SU but only 3-2 ATS following last week’s 41-31 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders as an 11-point favorite. The Cowboys are 11-1 SU and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12, and 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17. On the road, they’ve won seven straight ATS, which includes winning four straight ATS as a road underdog.
Last season Oklahoma State crushed TCU 63-17 as an 11.5-point favorite. In the last four games in this matchup at TCU, the Horned Frogs are 3-1 SU and ATS.
