College Football Week 9 Betting Odds Preview
The ranked matchups keep coming in Week 9 of the college football season, starting with a Big Ten battle between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 13 Penn State Nittany Lions.
At Bovada Sportsbook, the Buckeyes are 15.5-point road favorites. Ohio State is undefeated on the season at 7-0 straight up following last week’s 54-10 drubbing of the Iowa Hawkeyes as a 30-point favorite. On the road, they’re 14-1 SU and 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15, all as the favorite.
Penn State is coming off a 45-17 win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers as a 5.5-point favorite that snapped a three-game ATS losing streak. At home, the Nittany Lions have won five straight at 3-2 ATS, but as a home underdog they’re 2-7 SU and 4-5 ATS in their last nine.
Last season, the Buckeyes defeated the Nittany Lions 33-24 as 18.5-point favorites. In this matchup, Ohio State has won five straight with a 1-4 ATS record and in the last 10 they’re 9-1 SU and 5-4 ATS.
Cowboys small road underdogs at K-State
In the Big 12 this weekend, the No. 9 Oklahoma State Cowboys take on the No. 22 Kansas State Wildcats as 1.5-point road underdogs.
Oklahoma State got past the Texas Longhorns 41-34 as a 6.5-point favorite last week. The Cowboys are 5-1 ATS in their last six and have been a strong OVER play for totals bettors with five straight OVERs and a 7-1 OVER record in their last eight. The Cowboys have won eight straight ATS on the road, and as a road favorite they’re 8-1 ATS in their last nine.
Kansas State is coming off a 38-28 loss to the TCU Horned Frogs as a 3.5-point underdog. When favored, the Wildcats have lived up to the hype at 5-1 SU and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six, and 13-2 SU and 10-3-2 ATS in their last 15.
Last season, the Cowboys edged the Wildcats 21-20 as 6-point favorites. Oklahoma State has won three straight in this matchup with a 2-1 ATS record but on the road against the Wildcats, the Cowboys are 2-7 ATS in their last nine.
Kentucky has gone UNDER in 7 of last 8
In the SEC this weekend, the No. 3 Tennessee Volunteers host the No. 19 Kentucky Wildcats as 12.5-point favorites.
Tennessee defeated the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks 65-24 as a 38.5-point favorite last week. At home, Tennessee has won seven straight at 5-2 ATS and has gone OVER the posted total in eight straight. When favored, the Volunteers are 13-1 SU and 10-4 ATS in their last 14.
Kentucky has been a big UNDER play with a 7-1 UNDER record in their last eight games. On the road, the Wildcats have won four straight ATS and they’re 4-0 ATS in their last four as an underdog.
Last season, Tennessee defeated Kentucky 45-42 as a 1-point favorite. In their last 10 vs the Wildcats, the Volunteers are 8-2 SU and ATS, and at home they’re 11-1 SU and 8-4 ATS in their last 12 against Kentucky.
