The AP’s latest Top 25 is out, and while Florida State still occupies the top spot on the list Oregon has made the early move past Alabama to No. 2 after this past Saturday’s thrilling victory over then-No. 7 Michigan State in a Pac-12 vs. Big Ten clash. The Ducks rallied from an early deficit to win 46-27 as 14-point home favorites. They will remain home this Saturday as prohibitive 43.5-point favorites over Wyoming on the Bovada opening betting odds.
The biggest matchup in college football this Saturday takes us to the SEC with No. 6 Georgia on the road against No. 24 South Carolina as a 6-point favorite. The Bulldogs opened the new season with a solid 45-21 victory against Clemson as 9.5-point home favorites, but they come into this matchup with a 1-5 record against the spread in their last six SEC road games and they are 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games against the Gamecocks.
The No. 12 UCLA Bruins and the Texas Longhorns clash this Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The 2-0 SU (0-2 ATS) Bruins come in as 7.5-point favorites over Texas, which is 1-1 both SU and ATS. UCLA is just 1-3 ATS in its last four games as a favorite and the Longhorns are 3-1 ATS in their last four games against a team from the Pac-12.
Week 2 in the NFL kicks things off with a classic AFC North rivalry as Pittsburgh goes on the road to face Baltimore at M&T Bank Stadium on Thursday night. These two have waged some epic battles in recent memory and Bovada has opened the Ravens as 3-point favorites this time around. The betting odds for the total line have been set at 44.
The Steelers are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games but they could not cover the 5.5 points in this past Sunday’s 30-27 squeaker over Cleveland at home. The Ravens are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games after falling to Cincinnati 23-16 on opening day as 1-point home favorites.
