Friday/Saturday Bowl Games Betting Preview
College football bowl season officially kicks off Friday night with a jam-packed schedule ahead this weekend.
Getting things started on Friday is the Bahamas Bowl between the Buffalo Bulls and the Charlotte 49ers. At Bovada Sportsbook, the Bulls are 7-point favorites.
The Bulls are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven and when favored they’re 5-1 straight up and ATS in their last six. The 49ers are playing in their first bowl game and as an underdog they’ve won three in a row SU.
Frisco Bowl: Utah State vs Kent State
Also on Friday, the Utah State Aggies face the Kent State Golden Flashes in the Frisco Bowl as a 5.5-point favorite.
The Aggies are 16-1 SU and 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games as a favorite. Kent State has won four straight ATS and as an underdog is 5-0 ATS in its last five.
Camellia Bowl: Florida International vs Arkansas State
Looking ahead to a busy Saturday, the Florida International Panthers face the Arkansas State Red Wolves in the Camellia Bowl as a 2.5-point underdog.
The Panthers are 2-8 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 as an underdog. The Red Wolves are 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five bowl games. Against the Panthers, the Red Wolves are 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS in their last eight.
Las Vegas Bowl: Boise State vs Washington
In the Las Vegas Bowl, the Boise State Broncos are 3.5-point underdogs vs the Washington Huskies.
Boise State has won six straight at 3-3 ATS, and as an underdog has won four in a row SU and six straight ATS. The Huskies are 4-0 ATS in their last four vs Boise State, which includes a 28-26 loss to Boise State in the 2012 Las Vegas Bowl as a 4.5-point underdog.
New Mexico Bowl: San Diego State vs Central Michigan
In the New Mexico Bowl, the San Diego State Aztecs are 3.5-point favorites vs the Central Michigan Chippewas.
The Aztecs have been a solid UNDER play for totals bettors at 12-1 UNDER in their last 13. Central Michigan is 6-2 SU and ATS in its last eight, and 3-1 SU in its last four as an underdog.
Cure Bowl: Georgia Southern vs Liberty
In the Cure Bowl, the Georgia Southern Eagles face the Liberty Flames as a 5-point favorite.
The Eagles are 9-1 SU in their last 10 when favored but only 5-5 ATS. Liberty is 1-6 SU and 3-4 ATS in its last seven as an underdog.
New Orleans Bowl: Appalachian State vs UAB
This year’s New Orleans Bowl features the Appalachian State Mountaineers vs the UAB Blazers as 17-point favorites.
The Mountaineers won the 2018 New Orleans Bowl 45-13 over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders as 6.5-point favorites. In their last 19 games, the Mountaineers are 18-1 SU and 12-5-2 ATS. UAB is 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS in its last seven as a double-digit underdog.
Boca Raton Bowl: SMU vs Florida Atlantic
Finally in the Boca Raton Bowl, the SMU Mustangs face the Florida Atlantic Owls as a 3.5-point favorite.
