It took double overtime, but the Chicago Blackhawks prevailed in Game 5 over the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings to punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup final to face the Boston Bruins.
This one has the makings of a great series. Chicago ran away with the best record in hockey this regular season (36-7-5) and has been considered the team to beat all season long. The Boston Bruins meanwhile have caught fire since their incredible Game 7 comeback over the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round, going 8-1 SU over their last nine games including a sweep of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Boston allowed just two goals total to the Penguins and never trailed in the four-game sweep.
Boston is 6-2 SU in its last eight games against Chicago. The series is set to open in Chicago on Wednesday, with Game 2 following on Saturday. Chicago is currently listed as a -145 favorite over Boston (+125) at Bovada. The series will head to Boston next week for Games 3 and 4.
The San Antonio Spurs stole Game 1 on the road in Miami 92-88 as a 5.5-point underdog, putting them in position to close out the series at home with the next three games in San Antonio. Miami turned the tide in Game 2, blowing San Antonio out in a 103-84 win that the Heat made look easy.
San Antonio entered Sunday’s Game 2 on a 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS run, but came crashing back to earth at the hands of the Heat.. Game 3 will be played on Tuesday, Game 4 on Thursday, and Game 5 on Sunday.
The Toronto Blue Jays won their three-game home series against the Texas Rangers over the weekend, including a win in an 18-inning marathon game on Saturday. They’ll face the Rangers again this week, this time in a four-game series starting on Thursday. Toronto was swept in its last trip to Arlington in a three-game series last May. They are 1-5 SU in their last six games in Texas.
