Marquee NFL, College Football on Slate
The first week in December is jam-packed with betting action as the NFL heads into the stretch run to the playoffs and several conference titles are on the line in college football. College basketball begins its second month of nonconference play, and the NBA turns the corner towards reaching the halfway point of its regular season. The following is a look at some of the early lines for the week as provided by 5Dimes.
The NFL’s early games on Sunday feature an AFC battle between a couple of 8-4 division leaders as the South’s Indianapolis Colts go on the road to face the North’s Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams are coming off big wins this past Sunday and the Bengals have been opened as 5.5-point home favorites for this matchup. The total has been set at 44.5.
Sunday night’s game takes us to a huge battle in the NFC South between Carolina and New Orleans. The Panthers are riding an eight-game winning streak while the Saints head into this Monday night’s showdown against Seattle at 9-2 on the year. For now, New Orleans has been opened as a 3.5-point home favorite against Carolina with the total set at 47.
After a major shakeup at the top of the SEC West this past Saturday, Auburn heads into this season’s conference title game as a 2-point favorite over Missouri, which climbed ahead of both Georgia and South Carolina to win the East Division. The total for Saturday’s contest has been set at 59.
The Stanford Cardinal will be on the road against Arizona State in this season’s Pac-12 title game. The Cardinal won the North Division at 7-2 and they have been opened as 3.5-point underdogs against the Sun Devils, who won the South at 8-1. The total in this matchup has been set at 56.5.
In a classic rivalry in the Big Ten, the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes will try and complete a second straight perfect season as 5.5-point favorites against Michigan State. The total for that game has been set at 49.5.
The Big Ten will take on the ACC in college basketball this Tuesday night with Indiana at Syracuse, Michigan on the road against Duke, and Iowa playing host to Notre Dame.
Thursday night’s TNT doubleheader in the NBA pits New York vs. Brooklyn at the Barclays Center in the early game and Miami on the road against Chicago in a 9:30pm ET tipoff.
