Mayweather, NBA playoffs on tap this weekend
Floyd “Money” Mayweather is a perfect 43-0 over his illustrious professional boxing career, and will look to improve to 44-0 with a win over Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero on Saturday night to highlight the sports betting slate for the weekend.
Guerrero (31-1-1-2) is a talented boxer in his own right, but he is a big underdog at +500 going up against the pound-for-pound king of Boxing. Mayweather (-800) is fighting in his first bout since serving a jail sentence a year ago in 2012.
Four NBA Game 6s are on the docket for Friday, with all lines provided by 5Dimes: New York Knicks (-1.0) at Boston Celtics (+1.0), Indiana Pacers (+1.5) at Atlanta Hawks (-1.5), Oklahoma City Thunder (+1.0) at Houston Rockets (-1.0), and the Los Angeles Clippers (+6.0) at Memphis Grizzlies (-6.0). Boston and Houston have both fought back from 0-3 deficits to win two straight and to force a Game 6. The home team has won every game in the Indiana vs. Atlanta series.
Should any of these series require a Game 7, it will be played on Sunday at the other team’s building.
After a lockout-shortened season, the NHL playoffs are officially underway. The top seed in each conference will be in action on Friday (lines via 5Dimes) as the Chicago Blackhawks (-240) host the Minnesota Wild (+220) and the Pittsburgh Penguins (-220) host the New York Islanders (+200). Pittsburgh easily dispatched of New York 5-0 in their series opener on Wednesday, while Chicago needed overtime to top the pesky Wild 2-1 on Tuesday. Both top seeds will be on the road in Game 3 on Sunday.
The first leg of the triple crown gets underway Saturday in Churchill Downs at the Kentucky Derby. Bovada currently has the two betting favorites as Orb (7/2) and Verrazano (4/1), but there are plenty of talented horses that could cross the finish line first including Goldencents (5/1), Revolutionary (10/1), and Normandy Invasion (12/1).
The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants have one of the oldest and most famous rivalries in baseball, and they’ll clash once again in a three-game series starting this Friday in San Francisco. Clayton Kershaw is set to take the mound for the Dodgers on Friday and is a -150 favorite at 5Dimes over Barry Zito and the Giants (+140).
