Memorial Tournament Betting Odds Preview
For the second week in a row, the PGA Tour tees it up at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, this time for the Memorial Tournament.
Last week the tour stopped at Muirfield for the Workday Charity Classic. Collin Morikawa bested Justin Thomas in a playoff to claim his second career PGA win. Morikawa will be back at Muirfield this week and he’s a +2000 underdog at Bovada Sportsbook to win again.
Thomas, DeChambeau co-favorites to win Memorial
The co-favorites at Bovada this week are Thomas and Bryson DeChambeau, both at +1000.
Last week after turning in three brilliant rounds, Thomas stumbled on the final three holes, which allowed Morikawa to force a playoff and eventually win the tournament. Since the tour resumed following its pandemic hiatus, Thomas has finished in the top 10 in three of the four tournaments he’s played.
DeChambeau skipped the Workday last week after winning the Rocket Mortgage Classic a few days earlier. That was his second win of the season and ninth top-10 finish. He has also finished in the top eight in all four tournaments he’s played since the tour resumed play. DeChambeau will be looking for his second Memorial win after previously winning in 2018.
Defending champ Cantlay +1200 to repeat
Following Thomas and DeChambeau on the odds list at Bovada are Patrick Cantlay and Rory McIroy at +1200 and Dustin Johnson at +1600.
Cantlay is the defending champion of the Memorial and finished tied for seventh at Muirfield last week. McIlroy will be returning to action for the first time since late June when he tied for 11th in the Travelers Championship. Johnson has also been on a short break since the Travelers, which he won to post his first victory of the season.
Tiger Woods makes return to tour
The Memorial will also see the return of Tiger Woods, who has been absent from the tour since mid-February. Woods is very familiar with Muirfield, having won the Memorial five times, the last being in 2012. Woods is listed at +2000 to win a sixth Memorial title this week, odds he shares with Morikawa, Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka.
Other former Memorial winners in the field this week include Hideki Matsuyama (+2500), Justin Rose (+5500), Matt Kuchar (+6600), Jim Furyk (+25000), Jason Dufner (+25000) and Steve Stricker (+40000).
