MLB Betting: Series Contenders Clash In Bronx
Bettors could be getting an early World Series preview Tuesday night as the Washington Nationals and New York Yankees begin a three-game set in the Bronx.
The Nationals enter the series scuffling a bit, with a 4-5 record in their last nine games. On the road Washington is 1-3 in its last four but has been a solid pick for UNDER bettors on the road with nine straight UNDERs.
New York is 9-2 in its last 11 games and has also been paying UNDER bettors lately with six straight UNDERs. At home the Yankees are 6-2 in their last eight.
Tuesday’s scheduled pitching matchup is Tanner Roark (3-6, 3.56) for Washington and CC Sabathia (3-1, 3.59) for New York.
Roark is coming off a win against the Tampa Bay Rays in which he allowed two runs on six hits in six innings. Washington won 11-2 as a -150 favorite at Bovada Sportsbook. He has never faced the Yankees in his career, but in 20 interleague games he is 8-7 with a 2.96 ERA.
Sabathia posted a win over the Toronto Blue Jays in his last start, allowing two runs on three hits over seven innings. New York won 7-3 as a -140 favorite. In three career starts against the Nationals, he is 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA.
The Yankees and Nationals last met up in 2015 when Washington took three games of a four-game series.
Cubs-Brewers matchups consistently going UNDER
Also on Tuesday, NL Central rivals clash when the Milwaukee Brewers host the Chicago Cubs.
Chicago began the series 8-2 in its last 10 games and will send Tyler Chatwood (3-4, 3.86) to the mound Tuesday. He had control problems in his last start in a no-decision against the Philadelphia Phillies after allowing one run on four hits and seven walks over 4.2 innings. He faced the Brewers in late April and pitched seven shutout innings in a Cubs win.
Milwaukee will hand the ball to Chase Anderson (4-5, 4.57). He was tagged with the loss against Cleveland last time out, allowing three runs on four hits in 4.1 innings. In two starts against Chicago this season, he is 0-2 despite a 2.08 ERA.
The Cubs have owned this matchup this season with a 7-1 record against Milwaukee, including a six-game winning streak. The matchup has also produced lots of cash for UNDER bettors with a 12-1 UNDER record in the last 13 between Chicago and Milwaukee.
