NBA Betting: Blazers Hit Trail For Pair
The Portland Trail Blazers play a back-to-back on the road Tuesday and Wednesday with what looks to be an easy win on Tuesday and a much tougher matchup on Wednesday.
The Trail Blazers begin their back-to-back on Tuesday against the New York Knicks. Portland heads into this matchup 2-2 straight up and against the spread in its last four games. That includes a 119-109 win over the Washington Wizards last time out as a 1.5-point road favorite at Bovada Sportsbook. The Trail Blazers are 4-3 SU and ATS on the road so far this season.
The Knicks are on a five-game losing streak at 1-4 ATS. In their last eight, they’re an awful 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS. Playing at home hasn’t helped either, as New York is 1-5 SU and 2-3-1 ATS in its last six at Madison Square Garden.
Portland has won its last three SU and ATS vs the Knicks and is 10-2 SU and 9-3 ATS in their last 12. The Blazers are also 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS in their last six games in New York.
Following their trip to New York, the Trail Blazers face the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. This season in the second half of a back-to-back, Portland is 2-0 SU and ATS, and is 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in the last seven.
The Bucks have cooled off considerably following their 8-1 start. In their last eight games, the Bucks are 4-4 SU and ATS. However, they’ve still been tough at home, with an 11-1 record SU and 9-2-1 ATS mark this season.
The Trail Blazers and Bucks met up in Portland earlier this month and Portland won 118-103 as a 2-point home underdog at Bovada Sportsbook. Even with that win the Trail Blazers are only 1-4 SU and 2-3 ATS in their last five vs the Bucks. In Milwaukee, the Blazers have lost four straight at 1-3 ATS.
LeBron returns to Cleveland
Also on tap Wednesday night, LeBron James makes his return to Cleveland when the Cavaliers host the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers appear to be righting the ship after an awful start to the season. The Lakers are 5-1 SU and 3-3 ATS in their last six. On the road this season it’s been a mixed bag at 4-4 SU and ATS.
The Cavaliers have the worst record in the league at 2-12, but they’re 7-7 ATS. Cleveland won its last home game, upsetting Washington 113-89 as a 9-point underdog, but is still 2-5 SU and ATS at home this season.
The matchup trends may not matter much since LeBron changed sides, but Cleveland has dominated this matchup at 7-1 SU and 3-5 ATS in the last eight. For totals bettors, the last 10 matchups between Cleveland and Los Angeles have all gone OVER the posted total.
