NBA Betting: Cavaliers Stumble Into Chicago
The suddenly stumbling Cleveland Cavaliers might have trouble getting back on track Thursday night as they take on their Achilles heel, the Chicago Bulls.
Cleveland has lost their last two games straight up and three of their last four. On Tuesday night they were hammered by the San Antonio Spurs 103-74 as a 5-point underdog at the Bovada sportsbook. With the loss Cleveland also fell to 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games.
Chicago upset the Milwaukee Bucks 109-94 as a 6.5-point underdog last time out, but they're still only 4-6 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games. However, against the Cavaliers this season they've been dominant.
The Bulls are 3-0 SU and ATS against Cleveland this season with all three wins coming as the underdog. Overall the Bulls have won four in row SU and six straight ATS against Cleveland.
Also on tap Thursday night, the surging Portland Trail Blazers look to tighten their grip on the Western Conference's final playoff spot when they host the Houston Rockets.
Portland is on a four-game winning streak both SU and ATS. They're also 7-1 SU and ATS in their last eight. Houston had a four-game winning streak snapped Tuesday after losing to the Golden State Warriors 113-106 as a 1.5-point favorite.
Houston has won both matchups with Portland SU and ATS this season and they've taken three straight against them overall. This may be a good game for totals bettors to target as the trends shade toward the OVER. The last four between the Blazers and the Rockets have all gone OVER, the OVER is 7-2 in their last nine matchups, and in Portland the OVER is 9-2 in the last 11.
Finally, the Phoenix Suns carry a nine-game losing streak into their Thursday night clash with the Los Angeles Clippers. Phoenix is 2-7 ATS during their streak and at home they're 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS in their last five.
The Clippers are in action Wednesday night at home against Washington. In the second half of a back-to-back this season they are 7-9 SU and ATS. Los Angeles is 3-0 SU and ATS against the Suns this season and a solid 12-2 SU and 9-5 ATS in their last 14 meetings.
