NBA Betting: Game 5s on the Tuesday Slate

Three teams face elimination in Game 5 of their opening-round NBA playoff series on Tuesday night, starting with the Atlanta Hawks who are down 3-1 to the Boston Celtics.

At the Bovada Sportsbook the Celtics are 13-point favorites for Game 5. Boston took a 3-1 series lead by defeating the Hawks 129-121 as 7.5-point road favorites in Game 3. Boston is also 3-1 against the spread in the series.

The Celtics have won nine straight at home with an 8-1 record ATS. At home in the playoffs the Celtics haven’t been quite as unbeatable at 5-5 straight up and ATS in their last 10.

The Hawks have had a tough time on the road in the playoffs at 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS in their last six games. They’ve also had trouble with Boston going 1-8 SU and ATS in their last nine. In Boston the Hawks have lost six straight both SU and ATS, and they’re 1-10 SU in their last 11 games.

T-Wolves underdogs in Game 5 at Nuggets

In the Western Conference on Tuesday night the Minnesota Timberwolves need a win against the Denver Nuggets as 9.5-point underdogs to extend their opening-round series.

Minnesota kept the series going by winning Game 4 by a score of 114-108 as 4.5-point home underdogs. That win snapped a six-game losing streak as an underdog for the Timberwolves, during which they were 1-5 ATS. On the road in the playoffs the Timberwolves have been awful at 1-13 SU and 6-8 ATS in their last 14.

The Nuggets have won four straight at home both SU and ATS, and in their last seven home games they’re 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS. At home versus the Timberwolves the Nuggets have won three straight ATS, but prior to that mini streak they had lost seven in a row ATS.

Suns big Tuesday favorites hosting Clippers

Also in the West on Tuesday night the Phoenix Suns will try to send the Los Angeles Clippers packing in Game 5 of their opening-round series. With the Clippers expected to be without Kawhi Leonard again the Suns are 12.5-point favorites.

Phoenix took Game 4 by a score of 112-100 as 7.5-point road favorites. When favored by 10 points or more this season the Suns were 10-2 SU and 7-5 ATS.

The Clippers are 3-6 SU and 4-4-1 ATS in their last nine road games in the playoffs. They have relied heavily on a healthy Leonard this season and have gone 43-19 with him in the lineup, compered to 11-22 without him.
