NBA Betting: Heat, Lakers are Underdogs
The Miami Heat will be going after another upset win on Tuesday night when they take on the New York Knicks in Game 2 of their second-round series.
In the series opener on Sunday the Heat defeated the Knicks 108-101 as 4-point road underdogs. Jimmy Butler led the way for Miami with 25 points and 11 rebounds in that win.
In Game 2 the Knicks are 6.5-point favorites at the Bovada Sportsbook. Miami has won four straight both straight up and against the spread after taking Game 1. The Heat have also won four straight as an underdog, and in their last seven games as an underdog they’re 6-1 SU and ATS.
The Game 1 loss snapped the Knicks’ three-game winning streak, during which they were also 3-0 ATS. New York has been a profitable UNDER pick for totals bettors lately with six straight UNDER results. At home New York is 5-2 SU and 4-3 ATS in its last seven.
Including the series opener, the Knicks are 3-2 SU and ATS versus the Heat this season. At home versus the Heat the Knicks are 2-4 SU and ATS in their last six, and 3-6 SU and ATS in their last nine. In the playoffs the Knicks are 1-5 SU and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six versus the Heat.
With Miami leading 1-0 the Heat are listed as -155 favorites to win the series. The Knicks are set as +130 series underdogs.
Lakers underdogs in Game 1 versus Warriors
In the Western Conference on Tuesday night is Game 1 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors are 4.5-point home favorites for the contest.
Golden State needed seven games to get past the Sacramento Kings in the opening round, as the Warriors won Game 7 on Sunday 120-100 as 1.5-point road underdogs. Stephen Curry propelled the Warriors to the win with 50 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
At home Golden State is 5-1 SU and 3-3 ATS in its last six games, and in its last 16 at home Golden State is 14-2 SU and 12-4 ATS. At home in the playoffs the Warriors have been nearly unbeatable for years at 13-2 SU and 10-5 ATS in their last 15 games.
The Lakers took care of the Memphis Grizzlies in six games in the opening round. Despite winning the series, though, the Lakers are 1-3 SU in their last four road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five. As an underdog the Lakers have been a solid bet lately at 5-1 SU and ATS in their last six. However, as a playoff underdog they’re 1-12 SU and 2-11 ATS in their last 13.
This season the Lakers were 3-1 SU and ATS versus the Warriors. In their last nine road games versus Golden State the Lakers were 5-4 SU and 6-3 ATS.
Heading into Game 1 the Warriors are -145 series favorites and the Lakers are +125 underdogs.
