NBA Betting: T-Wolves Among Thursday Chalk
The Thursday night NBA schedule might be delivering a number of dud matchups for basketball fans, but it could lead to profits for NBA bettors.
First up is the Indiana Pacers at the home-favorite Minnesota Timberwolves. The Pacers are holding on to one of the final playoff spots in the Eastern Conference despite losing their last three games. Minnesota is trying to close in on a playoff spot after reeling off wins in three straight games.
On Tuesday night the Pacers were a 5-point home favorite at the Bovada sportsbook in a 109-103 loss to the New York Knicks. Not only was that their third straight loss straight up and against the spread, but it also dropped them to 1-5 ATS in their last six games. The Pacers are having road woes right now with a 2-5 record SU and ATS in their last seven away from home.
Minnesota delivered a 112-111 win over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, but failed to cover as a 1.5-point road favorite. In their last eight games Minnesota is 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS and they have won their last four games at home at 3-1 ATS.
Also on tap Thursday night, the Utah Jazz take on the Los Angeles Lakers for the fourth time this season.
Utah has won all three previous matchups against the Lakers this season, but they’re only 1-2 ATS. Last time they met up in Los Angeles in December the Jazz escaped with a 102-100 win as a 5-point favorite.
The Jazz have dominated this matchup over the last few seasons with a 7-1 record SU and 5-2 mark ATS. At home the Jazz are 7-2 SU and 5-4 ATS in their last nine versus the Lakers. That’s bad news for the Lakers, who have one win both SU and ATS in their last seven games overall.
Utah will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses and bettors will be looking for them to turn around a poor ATS run. In their last six games the Jazz are 1-5 ATS and they were favored in four of those losses.
The last game on the Thursday night schedule is the Phoenix Suns at the Denver Nuggets.
The Nuggets have been a solid bet lately at 6-1 ATS in their last seven games. Against the Suns they’ve won four in a row SU and ATS.
Phoenix has also been delivering for bettors lately at 5-1 ATS in their last six. They’re also 4-2 ATS in their last six road games, all as the underdog.
