NFL Thanksgiving Day Betting Preview
Thanksgiving delivers the usual tripleheader in the NFL on Thursday.
Getting things started in the early game are the Chicago Bears at the Detroit Lions. At Bovada Sportsbook, the Bears are 3-point road favorites.
The Bears defeated the New York Giants 19-14 last week but failed to cover the 6-point spread, dropping them to 1-6 against the spread in their last seven. On the road, the Bears have lost three in a row straight up and ATS, and against divisional opponents on the road they’re 3-13 SU in their last 16.
Detroit has lost four in a row SU and six straight ATS. As a home underdog, the Lions are 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS in their last seven.
In Week 10, the Bears defeated the Lions 20-13 as a 6.5-point favorite. That was the Bears’ third straight win against Detroit SU and ATS, and they’re 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven matchups.
Bills have been consistent UNDER play on the road
In the late-afternoon Thanksgiving game, the Dallas Cowboys take on the Buffalo Bills as a 7-point home favorite.
Dallas fell to the New England Patriots 13-9 last week as a 5.5-point underdog to improve to 4-1 ATS in its last five. The Cowboys are 6-2 SU and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games in November, and at home they’re 8-2 SU and 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10.
Buffalo is 3-0-1 ATS in its last four following last week’s 20-3 win over the Denver Broncos as 3.5-point favorites. On the road, the Bills are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six, and they’ve been a strong UNDER play on the road at 10-2 UNDER in their last 12.
The Cowboys are 4-2 SU and 2-3-1 ATS in their last six against the Bills.
Visiting Saints favored to avenge earlier loss to Falcons
In the Thanksgiving late game, you can nurse your turkey hangover while watching the New Orleans Saints visit the Atlanta Falcons as a 7-point road favorite.
The Saints are 8-1 SU and 7-2 ATS in their last nine, and they’ve won four straight SU and ATS on the road. As a road favorite, the Saints are 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last seven.
Atlanta had a three-game ATS winning streak snapped last week in a 35-22 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a 3.5-point favorite. At home, the Falcons have lost four straight at 1-3 ATS, but as a home underdog they’re 5-1 ATS in their last six.
In Week 10, the Falcons shocked the Saints in a 26-9 win as 14-point underdogs. Prior to that loss, the Saints had won their last three against Atlanta both SU and ATS.
