NFL Week 15 Picks
The Jaguars have been money in the bank for bettors since Week 7, and they should keep paying out in a divisional showdown with the Colts this weekend.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis (-5 -110 at Bodog)
The Jaguars already upset the Colts once this season with a 31-28 victory as a 7-point home 'dog in Week 4. This weekend the Jags head to Lucas Oil Stadium as a 5-point underdog. We'll put our money on the Jags thank you very much, and here's why.
In their last six games the Jags are 5-1 SU and a perfect 6-0 ATS. The Colts haven't had anywhere near as much success lately with a 1-4 ATS mark in their last five. That includes barely beating Tennessee last week 30-28 as 3.5-point chalk.
The difference-maker this weekend we think will be the Jaguars' running game. Behind Maurice Jones-Drew, Rashad Jennings, and mobile QB David Garrard, the Jaguars boast the No. 2 ranked rushing attack in the NFL. Put that up against the Colts' lame No. 29 ranked run defense and it won't be pretty. In nine career games against the Colts, Jones-Drew has averaged 98.1 rushing yards per game with eight touchdowns.
Pick: Say good night to the Colts' playoff dreams as the Jaguars win outright as a 5-point 'dog at Bodog
NY Jets at Pittsburgh (-6 -105 at Sportsbook.com)
What do we have here? A Steelers' team that has won four straight against a Jets team that has dropped two in a row and looked horrible while scoring only nine points combined. A Jets offense in complete disarray versus a Steelers defense that is the No. 2 scoring defense and the No. 4 defense overall in the league. Mark Sanchez has thrown four interceptions in his last two games, and now he has to contend with Troy Polamalu?
Pick: We'll happily take the Steelers at -6 (Sportsbook.com) as the Jets continue to crash and burn.
Atlanta at Seattle (+7 +100 at Sportsbook.com)
After last week's wild weather around the league we figured we had better look for at least one game on the schedule where weather could be a factor. That game should be Atlanta at Seattle. Not only do the Falcons have to travel across the country this week, but they also have to trade the warm confines of the Georgia Dome for the open air of Qwest Field, where right now rain is forecast for Sunday.
The Seahawks may not be among the NFL's elite this season, but they are one of the toughest teams to play against at home thanks to their 12th man, the extremely loud Seattle fanbase. Throw in the fact that both of the Falcons' losses this season have come on the road, and two of their ATS losses were also road defeats, and Seattle looks like a smart underdog pick. Also worth considering is the Seahawks' solid 4-2 ATS record at home this season, compared to 2-5 ATS on the road.
Pick: We still expect the Falcon to pull out a close win on Sunday, but they won't cover the 7-point spread at Sportsbook.com.
