NFL Week 2 Betting Preview
Week 2 of the NFL season kicks off Thursday night with the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Minnesota Vikings.
At the Bovada Sportsbook the Eagles are 7-point home favorites. Last week Philadelphia started the season with a 25-20 win over the New England Patriots as 3.5-point favorites. The Eagles are a disappointing 3-5 against the spread in their last eight games, but at home they’re 5-1 straight up and 4-2 ATS in their last six.
The Vikings are coming off a 20-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as 4-point favorites. The Vikings are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games and as an underdog they’re 1-7 SU and ATS in their last eight.
Last season Philadelphia defeated Minnesota 24-7 as 3-point favorites. In their last 10 games versus the Vikings the Eagles are 6-4 SU and ATS.
Bengals host rival Ravens as betting favorites
On Sunday AFC North rivals clash when the Cincinnati Bengals host the Baltimore Ravens as 3.5-point favorites.
The Bengals started the season off with a whimper last week with a 24-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns as 1-point favorites. The Bengals are 1-4 ATS in their last five games, but at home they’ve won seven straight at 5-2 ATS.
Baltimore got past the Houston Texans 25-9 as 9.5-point favorites last week. The Ravens have won three straight ATS and have been a solid bet as the underdog at 4-1 ATS in their last five, and 6-2 ATS in their last eight.
The Bengals were 2-0 SU and 0-2 ATS versus the Ravens last season. In their last five games against the Ravens the Bengals are 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS.
Niners set as chalk on the road at the Rams
In the NFC West on Sunday the San Francisco 49ers visit the Los Angeles Rams as 8-point road favorites.
Last week the Niners rolled to a 30-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers as 1-point favorites. They’re 13-1 SU and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games and as a road favorite they’ve won four straight at 3-1 ATS.
The Rams are coming off a 30-13 upset win over the Seattle Seahawks as 4.5-point underdogs. The Rams are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games and as a home underdog have won three straight ATS and five of their last six.
The Niners were 2-0 SU and ATS versus the Rams last season. San Francisco is 8-1 SU and ATS in its last nine games versus the Rams which includes winning seven straight ATS.
Monday night game between AFC North rivals
Week 2 concludes Monday night with the Cleveland Browns at the Pittsburgh Steelers as 2-point road favorites.
Cleveland routed Cincinnati 24-3 as 1-point underdogs last week. The Browns have been a strong UNDER play for totals bettors with a 7-1 UNDER record in their last eight games. As road favorites Cleveland is 5-2 SU and 3-4 ATS in its last seven.
The Steelers got bombed by San Francisco 30-7 as 1-point underdogs last week. As home underdogs the Steelers are 6-3 SU and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine.
The Browns and Steelers split the season series 1-1 SU and ATS last season with the home team winning each game. At home versus the Browns the Steelers are 9-1 SU and 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10, and 19-1 SU and 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20.
