NFL Week 3 Betting Odds Preview
Week 3 in the NFL kicks off Thursday night with an all-Florida battle between the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
At Bovada Sportsbook, the Jaguars are 3-point favorites. The Jaguars improved to 2-0 against the spread on the season last week in their 33-30 loss to the Tennessee Titans as 7-point underdogs. Jacksonville is now 4-1 ATS in its last five, but hasn’t been a great bet when favored, with a 2-6 record straight up and ATS in its last eight.
Dolphins have gone OVER in 7 of last 9 games
Miami fell to Buffalo 33-30 last week but won ATS as a 5.5-point underdog. Miami has been a strong OVER play for totals bettors with a 7-2 OVER record in its last nine games. In September, the Dolphins have lost seven straight while going 1-6 ATS.
In nine matchups between Miami and Jacksonville, the Jaguars are 5-4 SU and ATS, which includes a 3-3 record SU and ATS at home.
If you’re looking for road favorites, there aren’t many to choose from this week. Two that stand out are the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Giants 1-11 ATS in last 12 as home underdog
The injury-plagued 49ers are 4.5-point road favorites against the New York Giants. Last week San Francisco thumped the New York Jets 31-13 as a 7-point road favorite. As a road fave, the 49ers have won four straight at 2-2 ATS, and they’re 3-5 ATS in their last eight.
The Giants won ATS last week in a 17-13 loss to the Chicago Bears as a 4.5-point underdog. New York has been a bad bet at home in September at 1-7 ATS in its last eight. As a home underdog, the Giants have lost seven straight both SU and ATS, and they’re 1-11 ATS in their last 12.
Brady, Bucs favored over host Broncos
The Buccaneers are 6-point road favorites against the Denver Broncos. Tampa Bay picked up its first win with Tom Brady last week, getting past the Carolina Panthers 31-17 as a 7.5-point favorite. That snapped a three-game losing streak during which the Buccaneers were 0-2-1 ATS. As road favorites, the Bucs are 6-14 ATS in their last 20, and overall they’re 4-8-2 ATS in their last 14.
Denver fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-21 last week but won ATS as a 6.5-point underdog to improve to 2-0 ATS on the season. As a home underdog, the Broncos are 4-1 ATS in their last five and 8-4 ATS in their last 12.
Denver has won four straight against Tampa Bay with a 2-1-1 ATS record.
