NFL Week 5 Slate: Best Betting Matchups
The Green Bay Packers are on quite a roll right now and that could be bad news for the St. Louis Rams when they visit Lambeau Field in Week 5 of the NFL season. The Packers are a 9-point favorite at online sportsbook Bovada.
The Packers slipped past San Francisco 17-3 last week as a 7.5-point favorite. They extended their winning streak, both SU and ATS, to six games. Aaron Rodgers passed for 224 yards with a touchdown and Edie Lacy proved he was healthy with 90 yards rushing.
The Rams are coming off a strong upset win over Arizona. St. Louis was a 7-point underdog and clipped the Cardinals 24-22. Nick Foles tossed three touchdowns and rookie Todd Gurley broke out with 146 rushing yards.
The Packers enter this matchup on a 10-game winning streak at home, during which they are 8-1-1 ATS. St. Louis is 2-4 SU and 3-3 ATS in their last six on the road and have lost four in a row both SU and ATS versus the Packers.
Keeping our eye on potential contenders the Seahawks are in tough on the road against the Bengals with Cincy listed as a 3-point favorite at 5Dimes.
Seattle was lucky to come away with a 13-10 win over Detroit last week as 9.5-point chalk. A Calvin Johnson fumble and a blown call allowed Seattle to slip past with the win. Seattle was also missing Marshawn Lynch in the victory.
The Bengals are 4-0 SU and ATS after taking care of Kansas City 36-21 as a 3.5-point favorite last week. Jeremy Hill rushed for three touchdowns in the win and Andy Dalton continued his strong season with 321 yards passing and a touchdown.
Not only is Cincinnati a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS on the season they’re also 6-1 SU and ATS in their last seven games. In the head-to-head matchup they split the last six with three wins each, but Cincinnati is 4-1-1 ATS.
In the AFC West this weekend bettors get an interesting matchup when Oakland hosts Denver.
Oakland looked like they were ready to take the next step forward before losing to Chicago last week 22-20 as a 3-point road favorite. The Raiders led by one before Chicago hit a field goal with two seconds remaining,
Denver edged Minnesota 23-20 last week as a 7-point favorite. The win was their fifth straight in the regular season, but the ATS loss snapped a four-game streak.
The Broncos have owned this matchup for years, with seven straight wins SU and a 6-1 record ATS. At 5Dimes Denver is a 6-point road favorite.
