Niners Home Underdogs vs Seahawks Thursday

Having already lost as many games as they did all of last season the Seattle Seahawks hope to right the ship on Thursday night when they face the San Francisco 49ers. The oddsmakers at online sportsbook 5Dimes expect Seattle to start their turnaround after listing them as a 6.5-point favorite.

The Seahawks dropped to 2-4 last week after a 27-23 upset loss to Carolina as a 7-point favorite. Russell Wilson passed for 241 yards with a touchdown and Marshawn Lynch returned from a two-game layoff to rush for 54 yards and a TD. Jimmy Graham had his best game as a Seahawk with eight catches for 140 yards, but it was not enough to secure a victory.

The 49ers snapped a four-game losing streak last week with a 25-20 win over Baltimore as a 2.5-point underdog. Colin Kaepernick had a bounceback game and passed for 340 yards with a pair of touchdowns.

When the 49ers and Seahawks last met up Seattle came away with a 17-7 win as a 9-point home favorite. That was Seattle’s third straight win over the 49ers and fifth in their last six matchups. Seattle has also reeled off eight straight wins ATS versus San Francisco.

Seattle will be looking for their first road win of the season Thursday night after going 0-3 SU and 0-2-1 ATS so far. Being the road favorite at least looks promising, as the Seahawks are 8-3 SU and 6-5 ATS in their last 11 road games when favored.

When they visited San Francisco last season the Seahawks rolled to a 19-3 victory as a 1-point underdog. That snapped the 49ers' five-game home winning streak against them.

San Francisco has been a bad choice for bettors at home with a 2-6 ATS record in their last eight and a 3-10 ATS mark in their last 13. One interesting stat to keep in mind, when they’re a home underdog San Francisco is a strong 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games.
