Packers in Minnesota to Highlight Weekend Football Betting
If there was anyone left out there that did not know just how good 7-3 Green Bay is at home this season, they do now after last Sunday’s 53-20 dismantling of Philadelphia as a 4.5-point favorite on the 5Dimes closing betting odds. This Sunday, the Packers will go back on the road as heavy 10-point favorites against Minnesota. The total for this NFC North tilt has been set at 48.5.
Green Bay is 4-0-1 against the spread at home this season, but just 2-3 on the road. The 4-6 Vikings are 5-5 ATS overall, but they have covered in two of their last three games. The Packers have a 7-3 edge ATS in the last 10 meetings and the total has gone OVER in the last three games.
The top team in the AFC on most NFL Power Rankings would have to be the 8-2 New England Patriots after they ran their current SU winning streak to six games while going 5-1 ATS. They crushed Indianapolis 42-20 on the road last Sunday as 3-point underdogs, and this Sunday 5Dimes has listed the Patriots as 7.5-point favorites at home against 7-3 Detroit. The NFL betting odds for the total in this inter-conference clash have been set at 48. The Lions are just 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games as road underdogs.
The new No. 1 team in the nation according to the College Football Playoff Rankings is Alabama, following last Saturday’s 25-20 victory over then-No. 1 Mississippi State as a nine-point home favorite. The Tide decided to take a break this Saturday, with cupcake opponent West Carolina coming to town, before their annual SEC showdown against Auburn to close out the regular season. This week’s game is such a mismatch that 5Dimes still has it off the board.
The No. 2 team in the nation returns to action this Saturday with the Oregon Ducks hosting Colorado. While this game remains off the board as well due to the uncertain status of Colorado quarterback Sefo Liufau, the No. 3 Florida State Seminoles have been listed by 5Dimes as heavy 19-point home favorites for their ACC season finale against Boston College. Florida State is just 3-7 ATS this season and 1-4 ATS in its last five home games as a favorite.
The Bulldogs fell from the top spot to No. 4 in the CFP Rankings to hold on to a place in the national playoffs – for now. This Saturday they will play host to Vanderbilt as prohibitive 29.5-point favorites, with the Commodores coming in with a 1-5 record both SU and ATS in the last six meetings.
