PGA Betting: Arnold Palmer Invitational Odds
The PGA heads to Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Florida this week for the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Only two of the top-10 ranked golfers in the world are in this week’s field: No. 6 Tyrrell Hatton and No. 8 Rory McIlroy. At Bovada Sportsbook, they’ve listed McIlroy as the tournament favorite at +900.
McIlroy tops oddsboard to win Arnold Palmer Invitational
McIlroy has had success at Bay Hill before, winning the Invitational in 2018. Last week at the WGC-Workday Championship, McIlroy recorded his fourth top-10 finish of the season by tying for sixth place.
Hatton is the defending champion of the Invitational and is listed at +1600 at Bovada to repeat as champ. Last year he finished the tournament 4 under par to edge Marc Leishman by one stroke. Hatton tied for 22nd last week at the WGC and is still looking for his first win on tour this season. He does have a European Tour win under his belt after winning the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in late January.
At last week’s WGC event, Collin Morikawa topped the field, but he won’t be at the Invitational this week. The top finishers from the WGC who will be at Bay Hill this week are Billy Horschel and Viktor Hovland, who tied for second place. At Bovada, Hovland is listed at +1600 to win at Bay Hill, while Horschel is a +3300 underdog.
Grace a +8000 underdog coming off win in Puerto Rico
The WGC wasn’t the only event on the tour schedule last week. There was also the Puerto Rico Open. Branden Grace recorded his second career PGA win in Puerto Rico last week and will be at the Invitational this week as a +8000 underdog.
The odds of a few other notables this week include Bryson DeChambeau at +1200, Patrick Reed at +2000, Sungjae Im at +2000 and Hideki Matsuyama at +2500. From that group, Reed delivered the best performance at the WGC last week with a ninth-place finish. DeChambeau continued his recent disappointing play, finishing tied for 22nd. He has recorded only one top-10 finish since the calendar flipped to 2021.
Aside from Hatton and McIlroy, there are five other former Invitational winners in this week’s field. They are 2019 winner Francesco Molinari (+3300), 2017 winner Marc Leishman (+5000), 2016 winner Jason Day (+4000), 2014 and 2015 winner Matt Every (+50000) and 2011 winner Martin Laird (+20000).
