Redskins Road Underdogs for Saturday Night
The Washington Redskins can clinch the NFC East title this weekend if they can upset the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday Night Football.
The Eagles are a 3-point home favorite at online sportsbook Bovada despite coming off a blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Philadelphia was crushed 40-17 as a 3.5-point underdog. Sam Bradford passed for 361 yards with two touchdown passes, two interceptions and a lost fumble. Jordan Matthews led all receivers with eight receptions for 159 yards and a touchdown.
Washington got past Buffalo 35-25 as a 2-point underdog last week. Kirk Cousins had a monster game with 319 yards passing, four touchdown strikes and a TD run. DeSean Jackson had six receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown and Jordan Reed had two touchdown catches.
In Week 4 the Eagles and Redskins met in Washington and the Redskins escaped with a 23-20 win as a 3-point underdog. Cousins secured the win with a four-yard touchdown strike to Pierre Garcon with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter.
The win was Washington’s second in a row SU and third straight ATS versus the Eagles. In their last seven versus the Eagles Washington is 4-3 SU and 5-2 ATS. Being the underdog in this weekend’s matchup may be a good thing for the Redskins as the favorite is 0-3 ATS in the last three games between Washington and Philadelphia.
At home against Washington the Eagles are 5-5 SU, but only 3-7 ATS. The Eagles are 3-4 SU and ATS at home this season and in their last 10 home games against NFC East opponents they are 4-6 SU and 3-7 ATS.
On the road this season Washington has struggled to a 1-5 record SU and a 2-4 mark ATS.
