Rockets Big Underdogs to Avoid Elimination
The Houston Rockets improved to 4-0 SU and ATS in elimination games this postseason with their 128-115 win over the Golden State Warriors on Monday night. Houston will try to stay alive again in Game 5 at Golden State on Wednesday.
Houston is a 10.5-point underdog on the opening lines at the online sportsbooks. Houston is 6-1 ATS over its last seven games but is just 1-3 SU against the Warriors so far, putting the Rockets one loss away from elimination.
The Atlanta Hawks are also one loss away from elimination, and they will look to fight it off on Tuesday night on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland is an 8-point favorite at home at online sportsbook Bovada in Game 4. The Cavaliers failed to cover the spread as an 8-point favorite against Atlanta in Game 3, falling to 0-3 ATS in their last three games as a favorite despite a 3-0 SU record over that stretch. If necessary, Game 5 would be played on Thursday night in Atlanta.
The Tampa Bay Lightning bounced back from a 5-1 loss in Game 4 with an excellent defensive effort in Game 5, shutting out the New York Rangers in a 2-0 road win. The Lightning now return home with a chance to close out the series as a -135 favorite at Bovada on Tuesday night. New York (+115) is 3-0 so far this postseason when facing elimination and will need an upset win on the road to force a Game 7 back at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.
With three overtimes in five games, the Anaheim Ducks vs. Chicago Blackhawks series has been must-watch TV. After losing Game 2 and Game 4 in overtime, Anaheim took care of business at home in Game 5 to take a 3-2 series lead over the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks return home on Wednesday night in need of a win to extend the series.
The Texas Rangers have won six straight games despite being the underdog in every single one. Texas is a +143 road underdog at Bovada on Tuesday night sending Wandy Rodriguez to the mound against Danny Salazar and the Cleveland Indians at -163.
