Saints and Bears Wrap Up Week 15 Betting Slate on MNF
Monday Night Football features an NFC matchup between two teams that have mirrored one another this season with identical 5-8 records both straight-up and against the spread. The New Orleans Saints head into Soldier Field to square off against the Chicago Bears as 2.5-point favorites, and Bovada has set the total at 54 points.
New Orleans may only have five victories on the year but heading into Week 15 of the NFL regular season that was good enough for a share of first place in the dismal NFC South. The Saints are just 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five games and the most shocking part of that slide is that all four losses came on their home field. While they are 2-5 ATS at home this season they are an even 3-3 ATS in six previous road games.
The Bears are just 2-5 SU and ATS in their last seven games and they are coming off lopsided losses to Detroit and Dallas in which they were outscored by a combined 30 points. They have been especially bad on their home field with a 2-4 record both SU and ATS. The total stayed UNDER in four of those games, but it has actually gone OVER in four of their last six games overall.
With Drew Brees as their quarterback the Saints still have one of the best offenses in the league, scoring an average of 25.6 points a game, and they are ranked third in total yards. However, they have been held to 10 points twice in losses to Cincinnati and Carolina over the past four weeks.
Chicago fans love to pin their team’s problems on beleaguered quarterback Jay Cutler, but the Bears have major issues on both sides of the ball. The offense is ranked 18th in the NFL in yards (342.8) and 17th in points (21.6), while the defense has been awful right across the board and ranks dead-last in points allowed (29.1).
The Saints are 3-8 SU in their last 11 road games and the total has gone OVER in four of their last five games on the Bovada closing betting odds. Chicago is 3-12-1 ATS in its last 17 home games. Head-to-head, this series is tied 2-2-2 ATS in the last six meetings and the total has gone OVER in five of the last six meetings at Soldier Field.
