Sports Betting Week: GSW vs OKC Rematch
After a Stephen Curry shooting clinic last week against the Oklahoma City Thunder, bettors are pumped for the rematch on Thursday night. Last week the Golden State Warriors rolled into Oklahoma City as a 3-point favorite at online sportsbook Bovada and escaped with a 121-118 win thanks to a last-second long-distance three from Curry.
The Warriors are 5-1 straight-up and 3-1-2 against the spread in their last six games against the Thunder. They’ve also won 25 in a row at home with a 13-12 record ATS.
Before Thursday’s rematch the Warriors play host the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday and the Thunder visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. Golden State is 22-2 SU against the Eastern Conference this season, but only 11-12-1 ATS. The Thunder are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games against the Clippers.
On the ice this week the Tuesday night NHL slate boasts a number of interesting matchups
Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals take on Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Edmonton Oilers and Buffalo Sabres clash in the first meeting between Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel, and the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators meet in a potential playoff preview.
Washington has won four of their last six versus Pittsburgh, but they have only one win in their last six against them at home. With McDavid sidelined in December the Oilers defeated the Sabres as a -115 home favorite, their third straight win against Buffalo. Dallas is 2-0 against Nashville this season and has won four straight against them.
In college hoops a number of conference tournaments tip off this week including the MAAC, Ohio Valley, and West Coast tournaments.
Away from the conference tournament scene the game of the week is the Baylor Bears at the Oklahoma Sooners on Tuesday night. Earlier this season the Sooners downed the Bears 82-72 as a 1.5-point road underdog, but they’re coming off a 76-63 upset loss to Texas as 2.5-point chalk.
This week’s PGA Tour stop is the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral. Dustin Johnson, listed at +1100 at Bovada, won this tournament last year. Other previous winners of this event include Patrick Reed (+3000), Justin Rose (+2500) and Phil Mickelson (+2800).
Rory McIlroy is the Bovada favorite for the event at odds of +800.
