Sports Betting Weekend: Cavs Back-to-Back
The Cleveland Cavaliers have a busy weekend lined up with games on back-to-back nights against the Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics.
Cleveland enters the weekend having lost three of their last five games with a 1-4 against the spread mark on the odds posted by online sportsbook Bovada. One of those losses came against Washington as a 2.5-point road favorite. In three games against the Cavaliers this season Washington is 3-0 ATS. Against the Celtics Cleveland is 5-1 straight up and 2-4 ATS in their last six meetings.
On the ice this weekend the Washington Capitals also go back-to-back on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s matchup is against the New York Rangers, who they have won three in a row against and have a 5-1 OVER mark in their last six. On Saturday the Capitals visit the Boston Bruins; Washington has won five straight against the Bruins including a pair this season.
In college hoops the game of the weekend is another battle between ACC rivals the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Duke Blue Devils. Earlier this season Duke edged UNC 74-73 as an 8.5-point road underdog. Overall Duke has won four in a row SU against North Carolina while going 3-1 ATS, and they’ve won six of seven SU with a 4-3 ATS record.
NASCAR rolls into the Las Vegas Speedway on Sunday for the Kobalt 400. Kevin Harvick claimed the checkered flag in this race for the first time last season and he’s a +425 favorite to repeat at Bovada. A few multi-race winners at Las Vegas include Jimmie Johnson with four at +525 and Matt Kenseth with three at +700.
Fight fans and bettors will be jacked up on Saturday night for UFC 196. Two fights headline the main card from Las Vegas. First, Holly Holm returns to the Octagon for the first time since defeating Ronda Rousey to claim the women’s bantamweight title. She’ll face Miesha Tate in her first title defense. At Bovada Holm is heavily favored at -350, and Tate is listed at +265.
The other headlining bout sees Conor McGregor put his 15-fight winning streak on the line against Nate Diaz. McGregor is a -380 favorite at Bovada, while Diaz is a +290 underdog.
