Spurs on ATS roll: Weekend Betting Preview

The San Antonio Spurs are 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against the Los Angeles Lakers and will look to take a commanding 3-0 series lead when they face the Lakers in Los Angeles on Friday.

Despite coming into the season as the betting favorite to win the Western Conference and to be the Miami Heat’s biggest competition for an NBA title, nothing has gone right for the Lakers this year from chemistry to injuries. With Kobe Bryant out, can the Lakers use the home crowd to get back into this series in Game 3 on Friday? San Antonio is a 4.5-point road favorite at 5Dimes.

Friday’s other two Game 3’s (with odds provided by 5Dimes) are the New York Knicks (+3.0) at the Boston Celtics (-3.0) and the Denver Nuggets (-1.5) at the Golden State Warriors (+1.5). New York is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in its last five games against Boston and the total has gone UNDER in all five of those games. Despite losing David Lee in Game 1, Golden State pulled off a shocking 131-117 win as an 8.5-point road underdog to even its series up with Denver at one game apiece.

Moving on to Saturday’s Game 3’s, the Atlanta Hawks (-2.0) host the Indiana Pacers (+2.0) and the Houston Rockets (+3.0) host the Oklahoma City Thunder (-3.0) as both home underdogs look to fight back from an 0-2 deficit. Atlanta is 11-0 SU and 9-2 ATS in its last 11 home games against the Pacers.

The weekend will feature six Game 4’s; Brooklyn at Chicago and the LA Clippers at Memphis on Saturday, and New York at Boston, Miami at Milwaukee, San Antonio at Los Angeles, and Denver at Golden State on Sunday.

On the ice, the Western Conference playoff picture won’t become clear until the Los Angeles Kings host the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night. The winner of that game can finish no lower than fifth in the conference and could clinch home ice in the first round if St. Louis loses one of its last two games. San Jose is 11-5 in its last 16 games against the Kings.

Two interesting three-game MLB series are on tap this weekend as the Colorado Rockies meet the Arizona Diamondbacks in Arizona and the Baltimore Orioles visit the Oakland A’s. Colorado was 5-2 SU in its last seven games against the D-Backs heading into their weekend set.
