Super Bowl 55 Prop Odds Preview Part 2

Our look at Super Bowl 55 props continues this week, starting with a look at the halftime show.

This year’s Super Bowl halftime show features pop star The Weeknd. If you’re not a fan of The Weeknd, you can still enjoy the halftime show by possibly winning a few bets.

Starting off the halftime props list at Bovada Sportsbook is an OVER/UNDER on the number of songs that will be performed during the show. That OVER/UNDER was set at 8, with the OVER favored at -200 and the UNDER at +150.

Oddsmakers expect Weeknd set of more than 8 songs

The halftime show has included several wardrobe changes in recent years, and the oddsmakers are expecting The Weeknd to make at least one change to his outfit during his set. The OVER/UNDER on wardrobe change was set at 0.5 with the OVER favored at -380 and the UNDER at +240. You can also wager on whether there will be a wardrobe malfunction with the Yes option a +900 underdog.

The halftime bets that offer the best chance at profit are predicting the first and last song of the halftime show. For the first song of the halftime show, some of the current favorites are Starboy (+350), Blinding Lights (+400) and Can’t Feel My Face (+425). For the final song of the show, the favorites are Blinding Lights (-240), Save Your Tears (+675) and In Your Eyes (+1000).

How long will it take Church, Sullivan to sing anthem?

Before the halftime show, the first musical performance of the game will be the national anthem, which this year is a duet by Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan.

As usual, bettors can put money down on how long it will take Church and Sullivan to finish the Star-Spangled Banner. This year’s OVER/UNDER time was set at one minute 59 seconds. The OVER pays EVEN money and the UNDER is a -140 favorite. Last year, Demi Lovato finished the song in 1:50. Bettors looking for a little more info will want to know that Sullivan sang the national anthem at an NHL Stadium Series game in 2016 and finished the song in 1:38.

Orange and red co-favorites for Gatorade shower

Skipping ahead to the end of the game, one other very popular wager is the color of the liquid for the annual Gatorade shower. This year, the oddsmakers have chosen orange and red as the co-favorites at +165, followed by lime/green/yellow (+320), clear/water (+700), blue (+800) and purple (+1100).

Last year, the Kansas City Chiefs doused Andy Reid in orange Gatorade after their victory in Super Bowl 54. Prior to that, the last four showers were blue, yellow, orange and blue again.
