TNF Betting Preview: Raiders at Chiefs
First place in the AFC West will be up for grabs Thursday night when the Kansas City Chiefs play host to the Oakland Raiders.
Oakland enters the matchup at 10-2 on the season and on a six-game winning streak straight up and 5-1 run against the spread. Kansas City is 9-3 this season and has gone 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS in their last eight games.
The Raiders delivered an impressive 38-23 come from behind win over the Buffalo Bills last week as a 3-point favorite. Oakland trailed 24-9 in the third quarter, but rallied with 29 unanswered points.
Derek Carr led the way with 260 yards passing and a pair of touchdowns. Latavius Murray rushed for 82 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 20 carries, while Michael Crabtree led Oakland with seven receptions for 74 yards and a TD.
The Chiefs just barely got past the Atlanta Falcons 29-28 as a 4.5-point underdog last week. Eric Berry was the hero for the Chiefs with two key interceptions. Late in the fourth quarter he picked off a Falcons two-point conversion attempt and ran it back for two points. Berry also returned a pick for six earlier in the game.
Alex Smith had 270 yards passing and a touchdown for the Chiefs in the win. Spencer Ware rushed for 29 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and he also had a TD reception.
The Chiefs are a 3.5-point favorite at the Bovada sportsbook and have been stellar at home this season. Before a surprising upset loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their last home game Kansas City had won nine straight at home. However, they were a poor 3-6 ATS in those nine wins.
Oakland has won five in row SU on the road and eight straight ATS. In Week 6 Oakland hosted Kansas City and lost 26-10 as a 2-point underdog. Including that win the Chiefs have won their last four versus the Raiders at 3-1 ATS. They’re also 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus Oakland.
On the road the Raiders have lost their last three against the Chiefs at 2-1 ATS. The total has gone UNDER in six of the last eight games between the Raiders and Chiefs in Kansas City, but Oakland has been a major OVER play this season. Oakland has gone OVER in six straight and eight of their last nine games.
