Travelers Championship Betting Odds Preview
The PGA continues its fan-less tournaments this week, with a stop at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, for the Travelers Championship.
Last week Webb Simpson recorded his seventh career PGA Tour win at the RBC Heritage. Simpson birdied five of his last six holes to shoot 22 under and beat Abraham Ancer by one stroke. If you think Simpson can post back-to-back wins this weekend at the Travelers Championship, he’s a +2000 underdog at Bovada Sportsbook.
McIlroy, Thomas, DeChambeau share top Travelers odds
The co-favorites in the Travelers at Bovada are Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Bryson DeChambeau, all at +1200.
McIlroy was the favorite last week but struggled early on and in the final round to finish well back, tying for 41st place. That was his worst finish of the season so far and followed a similarly disappointing 32nd-place finish a week earlier in the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Thomas put himself in contention with a strong final round last week but came up short and tied for eighth place. That was his second top-10 finish since the tour resumed play as he tied for 10th a week earlier in the Charles Schwab Challenge.
DeChambeau put together a solid showing last week, tying for eighth place along with Thomas. He has now finished in the top 10 in both tournaments since the tour restarted and in six of his last seven tournaments.
Rounding out the top five on the odds list at Bovada are Jon Rahm at +1600 and Brooks Koepka at +1800.
Rahm has been rusty since PGA Tour resumption
Rahm has shown some rust since the tour restart as he missed the cut at the Charles Schwab Challenge and ended up tied for 33rd last week at the RBC Heritage.
Last week Koepka finally turned around what has been a disastrous year so far by tying for seventh. Prior to that top-10 showing, his best finish since January was tying for 17th at the Saudi International in February.
The defending champion of the Travelers Championship is Chez Reavie. Last year he shot 17 under to best Keegan Bradley and Zack Sucher by four strokes. Reavie hasn’t come close to winning on the tour this season, which is why he’s a +12500 underdog to repeat at Bovada.
Other former winners of the Travelers Championship in the field this week include two-time winner Bubba Watson (+3300), Jordan Spieth (+4000), Marc Leishman (+5000), two-time winner Phil Mickelson (+12500) and Hunter Mahan (+100000).
