Xiaonan, Esparza have combined for 10 straight wins
Also on the main card this weekend is a women’s strawweight bout featuring Yan Xiaonan and Carla Esparza. At Bovada, Xiaonan is a -125 favorite and Esparza a +105 underdog.
Xiaonan has won her last six fights to improve her record to 13-1 and one no contest with five wins by KO. She last fought at UFC on ESPN 17 in November, besting Claudia Gadelha by unanimous decision as a -215 favorite.
Esparza has won her last four fights and owns an overall record of 17-6 with three wins by KO and four by submission. She last fought at UFC on ESPN 14 in July, topping Mariana Rodriguez by split decision as a +160 underdog.
Tafa favored over Vanderaa in heavyweight tilt
One other notable fight on the main card this weekend is a heavyweight bout featuring Justin Tafa and Jared Vanderaa. At Bovada, Tafa is a -185 favorite and Vanderaa a +150 underdog.
Tafa has dropped two of his last three fights, leaving him with a 4-2 record, with all four wins coming by KO. He last fought at UFC on ABC 1 in January, losing to Carlos Felipe by split decision as a +155 underdog.
Vanderaa is 11-5 with seven wins by KO and three by submission. He last fought in February at UFC Fight Night 185 where he lost to Sergey Spivak by second-round TKO as a +190 underdog.
