UFC Betting: Rodriguez vs Waterson Preview
Bettors are faced with a retooled main card this weekend at UFC on ESPN: Rodriguez vs Waterson.
The main event was supposed to be a bantamweight bout between T.J. Dilllashaw and Cory Sandhagen, but that was scrapped after Dillashaw was injured in training. Instead, the main event will be a women’s flyweight bout featuring Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson. At Bovada Sportsbook, Rodriguez is a -210 favorite and Waterson a +170 underdog.
Rodriguez is 3-1-1 in her last five fights and owns an overall record of 13-1-2 with six wins by knockout and one by submission. She last fought at UFC 257 in January when she defeated Amanda Ribas by second-round TKO as a +230 underdog.
Waterson has lost two of her last three fights to drop her record to 18-8 and one no contest, with three wins by KO and nine by submission. She last fought at UFC Fight Night 177 in September, besting Angela Hill by split decision as a +110 underdog.
Cerrone favored to snap winless skid vs Morono
Also on the main card this weekend is a welterweight bout between Donald Cerrone and Alex Morono. At Bovada, Cerrone is a -200 favorite and Morono a +160 underdog.
Cerrone is winless in his last five fights, which includes one no contest. His overall record stands at 36-15 and two no contests, with 10 wins by KO and 17 by submission. He last fought at UFC Fight Night 178 in September and his fight against Niko Price was declared a no contest after Price tested positive for marijuana. Cerrone was a +110 underdog in the fight that was originally declared a majority draw.
Morono is 18-7 and one no contest with five wins by KO and six by submission. He last fought at UFC Fight Night 183 in December, losing to Anthony Pettis by unanimous decision as a +160 underdog.
Neal, Magny both coming off decision losses
One other notable fight on the main card this weekend is a welterweight bout between Neil Magny and Geoff Neal. At Bovada, Neal is a -190 favorite and Magny a +155 underdog.
Neal had a seven-fight winning streak snapped in his last fight to drop his record to 13-3 with eight wins by KO and two by submission. That loss to Stephen Thompson as a -120 favorite came by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 183 in December.
Magny is 24-8 with seven wins by KO and three by submission. He last fought in January at UFC on ESPN 20 where he lost to Michael Chiesa by unanimous decision as a -170 favorite.
