Vikings Favored vs Steelers for the HOF Game
The Minnesota Vikings are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS over their last five preseason games. The Vikings will try to keep that hot streak going when they kick off the NFL preseason this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Hall of Fame Game.
Minnesota is a 3-point favorite for Sunday's preseason opener according to online sportsbook Bovada. While starters are rarely used for long in early preseason games, it will be interesting to see if Adrian Peterson is used at all in the exhibition schedule after missing all but one game last year due to his suspension. Pittsburgh is just 1-7 SU and ATS over its last eight preseason games.
The Toronto Blue Jays have won five straight games and are 8-1 over their last nine. Toronto has climbed into a Wild Card spot, but can close the gap in the AL East this weekend taking on the division-leading New York Yankees in a three-game road series. The Yankees currently lead the division by 4.5 games and are a -120 favorite in Friday's series opener with Nathan Eovaldi set to take on R.A. Dickey and the Blue Jays at +100. Toronto is 0-4 in its last four road games against the Yankees with R.A. Dickey starting.
Two other teams fighting for an AL Wild Card spot are the Los Angeles Angels and the Baltimore Orioles, who meet for a three-game series at Los Angeles this weekend. The Angels are just 3-10 over their last 13 games but have won two of their last three and are a -133 favorite at Bovada at home on Friday. Andrew Heaney takes the mound against Kevin Gausman and the Orioles at +113. The total has gone UNDER in each of the last five games between Baltimore and Los Angeles and is set at seven runs on Friday.
The National League's best matchup of the weekend features the Los Angeles Dodgers visiting the Pittsburgh Pirates. Clayton Kershaw will look to extend his 37-inning scoreless streak in the series opener for the three-game series on Friday night as a -150 favorite against Gerrit Cole and the Pirates (+130).
