Warriors Favorites Again for Game 2 of Finals
The Golden State Warriors are 8-0 SU and ATS in their last eight games as a favorite of eight points or less at home. The Warriors will try to continue that trend this Sunday night in Game 2 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Golden State opened as a 7-point favorite for Game 2 at the sportsbooks. While the Warriors did win and cover in Game 1 as a 6-point favorite, the 108-100 final score was not indicative of how close the game was. Led by LeBron James' 44 points, the Cavaliers were able to force overtime on the road at 98-98, but were unable to overcome a late cold shooting streak and an injury to Kyrie Irving in overtime.
The Tampa Bay Lightning were in control for much of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final, getting out to an early 1-0 lead and holding that lead all the way into the second half of the third period. But with two goals in under two minutes, the Chicago Blackhawks tied the game and took the lead, stealing Game 1 on the road with a 2-1 win. Chicago has now won three straight games and is a +105 underdog in Saturday's Game 2 against the Lightning, who are a slight -125 favorite at home at online sportsbook Bovada.
The top two teams in the National League continue their four-game series with the second game on Friday night as the Los Angeles Dodgers host the St. Louis Cardinals. Michael Wacha out-dueled Carlos Frias in the first game of the series on Thursday as St. Louis came away with a 7-1 win. The Cardinals are 5-1 SU in their last six games against the Dodgers but are a +105 underdog on Friday. Los Angeles is a -125 favorite on Friday at online sportsbook Bovada with Brett Anderson on the mound against Carlos Martinez.
The Detroit Tigers are slipping down the standings with an 0-7 record over their last seven games. They will try to turn things around this weekend in a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox starting this Friday. Chicago is a -118 favorite on Friday with Jose Quintana set to start against Kyle Ryan and the Tigers at -102.
