Week 10 NFL Odds

Considering how poorly the Dallas Cowboys played under Wade Phillips this season, you'd think oddsmakers might cut them a break on the line after news broke that he'd been fired on Monday afternoon.

However, Dallas is still pegged as a two-touchdown road underdog against the New York Giants for their Week 10 matchup.

Books waited to see what would happen in Big D following the Cowboys’ embarrassing 45-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, then posted a line of -13.5 in favor of the home team once word spread of the Phillips firing. Early-bird bettors already now have that spread up to -14 at some sportsbooks.

*Note: The line has moved all the way to +15.5 at one sportsbook – check it out if you like the Cowboys to cover.

The Giants are the team to beat in the NFC and are looking for their sixth straight win after dismantling the Seattle Seahawks 41-7 as 7-point favorites this past Sunday. New York already beat Dallas 41-35 just three weeks ago in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score indicated.

Here’s a look at some of the other spreads from Week 10:

Baltimore Ravens at Atlanta Falcons (-1, 43) at BetUS

Two 6-2 teams collide in the second Thursday game of the season. Oddsmakers opened at -1 in favor of the home team, a line which has climbed half a point with early action on the Falcons. That sharp money should see a counter later in the week when the public begins pouring over the NFL odds. Expect this spread to flip-flop and close near a pick ‘em by the weekend.

Atlanta is undefeated at home, going 2-2 against the spread. The short week doesn’t help standout receiver Roddy White, who is nursing a bruised knee following Week 9’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. White, who is second in the NFL in receiving, told the media he’s going to play Thursday despite the injury.

Detroit Lions at Buffalo Bills (-3, 42.5) at BetUS

Want to know how much Matthew Stafford is worth to the line? Maybe two or three points. The Lions QB is out with another shoulder injury, leaving snaps to third-stringer Drew Stanton while primary backup Shaun Hill recovers from a broken hand.

Stanton attempted one pass, missing his target, in Week 9’s 23-20 overtime loss to the New York Jets. However, he did look ok versus the New York Giants in Week 6, passing for 222 yards with a touchdown and an interception while rushing for 30 yards. The Michigan State product might not be a downfield threat but he could give the lowly Bills trouble with his legs.
