Weekend NFL Betting Preview
Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles has been one of the worst possible plays at the online sportsbooks through the first three weeks of the season, but Michael Vick and company get another chance to pay off on the NFL betting lines this Sunday night as they play host to the New York Giants in primetime to highlight the Week 4 schedule.
The Eagles are 0-3 ATS on the season despite their 2-1 straight-up record, failing to cover the posted spread against each of the Browns, Ravens, and Cardinals heading into their Week 4 game vs. the Giants. Philadelphia has been tough on OVER bettors as well this season, with an 0-2-1 record on the OVER/UNDER through three weeks.

For Sunday the Eagles are listed as 1-point home favorites at 5Dimes against the Giants, with the OVER/UNDER sitting at 46.5 points. The Giants are tied with the Eagles at 2-1 atop the NFC East, and they've gone 1-2 ATS over the first three weeks. New York is just 3-7 both SU and ATS over their last 10 games against the Eagles.
The early-afternoon slate on Sunday has Carolina at Atlanta (-8), San Diego at Kansas City (pick'em), Seattle (-1) at St. Louis, San Francisco (-4) at the Jets, Tennessee at Houston (-14), New England (-4) at Buffalo, and Minnesota at Detroit. That Vikings/Lions matchup was off the board early in the week due to the uncertainty around Detroit QB Matthew Stafford, who is nursing an undisclosed leg or hip injury.
The Patriots are an unexpected 1-2 heading into their game against the Bills, with Buffalo ahead of them in the AFC East standings at 2-1 – and both teams at 2-1 ATS. Buffalo went 1-1 both SU and ATS against New England last season, although the Patriots overall are 9-1 in their past 10 against the Bills, covering the spread six times.
In the late afternoon on Sunday it's Cincinnati (-1) at Jacksonville, Miami at Arizona (-7), Oakland at Denver (-7), Washington at Tampa Bay (-2.5), and New Orleans at Green Bay (-9), with the Packers now 1-2 both SU and ATS after their controversial 14-12 defeat versus Seattle on Monday Night Football as a slight 3-point road favorite.
New Orleans, though, has the ugliest line in the NFL at 0-3 both SU and ATS through the first three weeks of the season, and the Packers beat them 42-34 in Green Bay as a 4.5-point favorite on the NFL odds last season. Overall the Saints are 3-2 both SU and ATS in their past five against the Packers, with all of those games OVER results.
