Weekly Sports Betting Preview
Move over NBA and all the other leagues as college basketball's March Madness has arrived. Some early qualifying games are on the college hoops betting menu for Tuesday and Wednesday before the Round of 64 gets underway on Thursday.
Western Kentucky will try to earn a date with the No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats as they play the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils on Tuesday in First Four NCAA Tournament action. Western Kentucky is a 4.5-point favorite at 5Dimes, and BYU is then a 2-point favorite against Iona in the later college hoops betting matchup on Tuesday.
Vermont and Lamar (-3) tangle in college basketball betting action on Wednesday, while South Florida and California (-2.5) take to the hardwood in the later First Four matchup that day. The serious hoops betting then gets started on Thursday afternoon.
Look for a tight betting matchup between Connecticut (-2) and Iowa State in the
South Region bracket on Thursday, while No. 6 seed UNLV is a 4.5-point favorite on the college hoops betting lines against Colorado when the two tip off that same day. Southern Miss and Kansas State (-5.5) should provide plenty of betting entertainment in another game to watch closely.
The NBA is also in action this week with the real contenders starting to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. Orlando has the East’s third-best record and bettors will be watching with interest on Tuesday when they face the second-place Miami Heat, who have seven of their nine losses on the road. The Magic trimmed the Heat at home early in February.
Wednesday has a bunch of games on the NBA betting lines at 5Dimes, with Philly and Indiana a notable contest, but nothing sizzles more than the betting matchup between the two best teams in the Eastern Conference - Miami and Chicago.
The NHL has a full betting schedule early this week with Washington trying to lock down a playoff spot in the East when they go up against the New York Islanders in a key betting matchup on Tuesday. Calgary will also try to stay in eighth in the West in a big game against San Jose that night. Dallas plays against Winnipeg on Wednesday, with Boston against Florida on Thursday being another key betting matchup at 5Dimes in the NHL early this week.
