Yanks Underdogs vs Blue Jays for Weekend
The New York Yankees have fallen out of first place in the AL East with a 1-5 record over their last six games. New York will try to regain the division lead this weekend on the road when they visit the Toronto Blue Jays for a three-game series starting on Friday night.
Toronto is a -240 favorite for Friday night according to online sportsbook Bovada. David Price and Ivan Nova met in New York in each of their respective last starts last week, and Price and the Blue Jays came out on top 6-0. Nova and the Yankees are a +200 underdog on Friday night as they attempt to snap Toronto's 11-game winning streak.
The New York Mets have also been red-hot of late, putting together an 11-2 record over their last 13 games. The Mets now lead the Washington Nationals in the NL East by 4.5 games, and they will try to stay hot this weekend hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates. The three-game series starts on Friday night as Bartolo Colon takes the mound for the Mets against J.A. Happ and the Pirates. New York has won by two runs or more in eight of their last nine wins.
The first week of the NFL preseason continues through the weekend with six games on Friday night, three games on Saturday, and one game on Sunday. Denver is a 5-point underdog at Bovada visiting the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. The Seahawks are 15-2 SU and 13-3-1 ATS over their last 12 preseason home games including a 7-0 SU and ATS run over their last seven.
On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles host the Indianapolis Colts and are a 4-point favorite at home. The two teams played one of the most exciting games of the regular season in 2014 when Philadelphia edged out a 30-27 victory in Indianapolis last year.
Dustin Johnson finished the first day of the PGA Championship as the clubhouse leader with a score of 6-under-par on Thursday. Action at Whistling Straits will continue through the weekend. Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth each ended Thursday's action at 1-under-par.
