derby

Las Vegas - Bouncing down to the NBA bubble again, and gonna drive right back to Teaser City for a two team 6-pointer. If they keep giving me points with Boston, I'm BUYING! Take the Celtics from +1.5 to +7.5 points against the Raptors, and lock in the Clippers, dropping L.A. down from -9 to -3 points against the Nuggets.

On the ice, the two GREATEST words in sports? GAME SEVEN! Got the Islanders vs. the Flyers tonight, and it should be ELECTRIC. Still remember the Trottier, Potvin, Bossy team that won FOUR STRAIGHT Stanley Cups. Don't see any of them on the ice, but still like the New Yorkers in this spot, because they KNOW how to close out a series. Against the Panthers in the qualifying round, the Islanders crushed Florida 5-1 in the finale. Against the Capitals in the last round, the Isles fed Washington a 4-0 BAGEL to send the Caps to the golf course. Ain't gonna be easy, and our wager will be skinny, but New York should be able to squeeze out a W and advance to the conference finals.

And now for the Derby from my man, Martin Calia.

GO Marty!

So instead of the first Saturday in May, we'll watch the Kentucky Derby on the first Saturday in September! The morning line favorite at 3/5 is the Barclay Tagg trained Tiz the Law. His jockey is NY based Manny Franco. Tiz the Law's accomplishments are as follows:

- He is 6 for 7 lifetime.

- 6 for 6 on a dry dirt track.

- 4 for 4 in 2020.

- Posted 3 triple digit speed Beyer ratings, the last a career best 109.

- Won the Travers Stakes at today's distance of a mile and a quarter.

- No horse in this field has run past a mile and an eighth.

- In his six wins, no horse has come closer than 3 lengths at the finish.

- His four G1 wins are more than the combined field of 16 colts in the race.

So what sets him apart? In one word...ACCELERATION!!! Nobody in this field moves like him. From the time he leaves the gate to secure position, to that final run at the top of the stretch to the finish line. Hopefully we will witness greatness as he is the best horse in this race!

The bet is TWO FULL BENJAMINS to win on #17 Tiz the Law. At first I didn't think there was value in the exactas, but with the defection of Art Collector it's anybody's guess who will finish second. So lets wheel Tiz the Law in $20 exactas with the field. That's #17 with all. If you're inclined to bet triples or a superfecta, I would use #17 on top and use the 2-5-7-15-16 underneath.

Good luck!!!
