Las Vegas - If July 4th is on the way, so is the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island. Joey Chestnut is the Babe Ruth/Wayne Gretzky/Michael Jordan/Jim Brown of dogs. 'Jaws' has 13 Mustard Belts and is looking for number 14. Of course, Chestnut is an OVERWHELMING favorite, bet $5,000 to win back $100, so you gotta turn to the props.
The Over/Under is 73.5 dogs. Joey swallowed 75 last year. Don't think that I have eaten 75 hot dogs in my ENTIRE LIFE! Also got an O/U for the first five minutes at 45.5 dogs, and O/U 9.5 dogs in the first minute of the competition. If you wanna throw down some relish on the exact amount of dogs Chestnut eats, you might be able to make a few bucks. Anywhere from 0-65 dogs is 15/1, 65/66 is 14/1, 67/68 is 12/1, 69/70 is 5/1, 71/72 is 3/1, 73/74 is 5/2 and 75 or more is 3/2. And if you have not watched this glorious spectacle, check out the emcee with the straw hat, George Shea. He is EXTRAORDINARY!!!
On the NBA board, we have a BIG question mark next to Giannis and we have another question mark next to Ice Trae Young. So, that means we're gonna put a question mark, and most likely a STOP SIGN in front of the bankroll.
There's NO stop sign on my baseball bankroll because we're rolling with the A's and Sean Manaea over the Rangers. Manaea has lost two in a row, but his numbers are actually fabulous. Since the end of May, he has thrown 44 innings and allowed only 6 earned runs for a very SKINNY 1.23 ERA. On the other side of the equation, Dane Dunning has been rocked for 38 hits and 18 earned runs over the last 22 innings. YIKES! Gimme Oakland for the money, and yea, you can BOOK IT!!!
