drones
Las Vegas - Wondering about which sport will come back first? You wanna bet on it. Gotcha. MLB is the current favorite at 6/5, followed by the NBA at 5/2, the NHL at 7/2 and MLS at 9/2. Hey Eck, why isn't the NFL on the list? Because they don't start till September, and one of these four will be playing by summer.
If you read this, Action-packed, fast-paced and sensory-stimulating, what sport do you think we would be talking about? I'll give you 15 guesses and you'll NEVER come up with it.
Okay, I'll tell. It's competitive DRONE racing. Imagine Formula One cars swerving and diving in three dimensions through an obstacle course — at speeds of up to 90 mph. That's drone racing baby!
And it's gonna be in good hands as Rachel Jacobson, former NBA Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships, will be introduced as the Drone Racing League's new president. Jacobson told USA Today that drone racing is
“visually stunning, easy to understand, and you’re not making a 3.5 hour commitment when you watch a drone race."
Here's the cool part, for me. Fans can go from spectators to participants in a flash. You just have to learn how to fly drones by playing an online first-person view (FPV) simulator game. If you get to the live events, you can deposit $75,000 and up in your bank, and you'll be playing at places like Alexandra Palace in London or Chase Field in Phoenix.
But before I become a drone pilot, and start racing for the big bucks, need to get a nickname. BEGGING for your help. PLZ. Hit my Email, ben@americasline.com, with your thoughts. Because the best ones I have come up with so far are, Free Benjie, or, Bamboo Tree Benj. So you see why I'm DESPERATE for your input.
