Las Vegas - One college football game to close the weekend, and it's Clemson against Georgia Tech at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Dabo's Tigers opened at -19 and have jumped all the way up to -23.5. Clemson should be the side, its defense is terrific, but laying 23 and a hook with DJ Uiagaleilei at quarterback is kinda scary. Why? Last season, the 'Big Cinco,' yea, he wears number five, ranked LAST among qualified ACC quarterbacks in passer rating and finished the season with more interceptions, 10, than TDs, nine. OUCH! Since Clemson's D was, as the French say, FORMIDABLE last season, we're gonna take Georgia Tech UNDER 13.5 points and watch Dabo's kids throw a bagel at the Yellow Jackets. And of course, if you can, buy the hook to make the O/U 14 points. Tech AIN'T getting to that number.
Also gonna step out West and throw some change at the Angels over the Tigers. Jose Suarez gets the start for L.A. and he has won four of his last six, but it's Detroit's pitcher that has caught my eye. Tyler Alexander is 3-8 with a 4.76 ERA, but lemme throw you some numbers from his start against the Angels back on August 26. PLZ sit because you might get dizzy. Alexander lasted only three innings and was RIPPED for EIGHT hits and SEVEN earned runs. With Mike Trout back and Shohei Ohtani continuing to amaze us, L.A. has won six of the last eight, and should be able to declaw the Tigers.
