gloves and the cup
Las Vegas - Back on the ice one more time, and the CUP is IN the building at Ball Arena. The guys with the white gloves will be shown carrying it, and everyone is gonna be a little nervous. Obviously, trailing 3-1, the Lightning are gonna hope to strike first and often, but don't bet on it. I'm sure you've seen the stat that teams with a 3-1 edge have a 36-1 record when it comes to winning Lord Stanley's Cup. That is 97%! Did I say THIRTY SIX and ONE. Did I say NINETY SEVEN PERCENT? Oh YEA! So, even if Colorado loses, goes back to Tampa and loses game six, we would MORTGAGE our house on the Avs in game seven. But not to worry, the Cup will be skating around the ice tonight in Gabriel Landeskog's hands. Totally understand that the Bolts felt cheated at the end of OT in game four when it looked like the Avalanche had too many men on the ice. Will anger translate into a W? NAH! Colorado has home ice, which means the ALL-IMPORTANT last change and that means more open ice for Landeskog, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Nazem Kadri, and Valeri Nichushkin. And open ice means GOALS, especially in Denver. The Avs have won seven of nine playoff games at home, and scored 40, yea, FORTY goals. The Lightning are under water on the road, losing six of 11, and have managed only 26 goals in those games. Speed kills and that's why the Avalanche WILL lift the Cup tonight as 'All the Small Things' by Blink-182 rocks the Ball!!!
