Las Vegas - Still think that the Nuggets are gonna lift the Larry O'Brien Trophy, but gotta throw some love & a handful of chips at the Heat tonight. A few reasons. Totally understand that NO ONE is gonna stop Nikola Jokic and probably Jamal Murray. But after looking at the box score from game one, here's what I have. Miami was down 84-63 entering the 4th quarter, and wound up outscoring Denver 30-20. And that was WITH Jokic and Murray still on the floor. Jimmy Butler managed to score only 13 points and he could double that in game two. Then we looked at the stats from downtown, and it COULD NOT HAVE BEEN UGLIER! Caleb Martin who has averaged 13.5 points in the playoffs scored just 3 points and was only 1 of 7 from downtown. Max Strus was even UGLIER! Strus who normally averages around 10 ppg in the playoffs came up with a BIG FAT ZERO! NOT ONE POINT! A GOOSE EGG! BUPKIS! Yea I'm yelling. Max is a 37% career shooter from beyond the arc and he was, are you sitting, 0-10, which is OH FOR FREAKIN' TEN! If you think Strus is gonna throw out an OHFER again, you can find me on Venmo and I'll take ANY and ALL bets. And finally, Duncan Robinson who is a career 40% deadeye from 3-point land was only 1 of 5. With all that UGLY, the Heat still only lost by 11 points. One or two more threes that get nothing but net and a few more points from Jimmy Buckets, and Miami should be able to cover this generous number. Seeing mostly +8.5, but if you can, plz buy the hook to +9.
