Las Vegas - First, a little taste of the regular season, just in case you don't remember the scores. Way back in October, the Islanders hosted the Flyers as a -$105 favorite, with the Over/Under goal total set at 5.5. New York picked up a 5-3 W and the Over cashed. The Black & Orange hosted the next game, in November, as a -$105 favorite, with the Over/Under goal total set at 5.5. The Isles posted another win, 4-3, and it was another Over. The New Yorkers were at home back February as a -$110 favorite, with the Over/Under goal total set at 6.0. The Islanders posted a third straight win, 5-3, and yes, it was another Over. A whole lotta Overs in the regular season, but in the bubble, it's been a different story. New York has gone Over 4 times, Under 3 times and pushed twice, while Philly has gone Under 6 times, with 2 pushes and only 1 Over. Always stay light in the first game of a series, just to take the temperature of each team, so it's gonna be a light, light play to the Islanders.
Swinging over to the baseball board, even though the team, Kansas City, is ugly (11-16), this kid Brad Keller has been SPECTACULAR. Tell me more Eck. Gotcha. Keller has started three times, thrown 17 innings, and EVERY single inning has been a big fat ZERO, a GOOSE EGG, a BAGEL! Obviously, he ain't gonna have a zero ERA for the entire season, but the big righty (6'5" and 250 lb.) can throw the rock. St. Loo is gonna roll with Jack Flaherty, who is one of my favs, but he's on a strict pitch count, and will probably not make it past the 4th or 5th inning. Kinda scary to roll with a lousy team on the road, but Keller is my new guy!
