Las Vegas - It's the Tale of Two Garcia's tonight, but we're talking only Luis. In his first start against Boston during the regular season, at home, he was superb, allowing just one earned run over seven innings. Then disaster in game two of the ALCS where he was BOMBED, giving up FIVE earned in just ONE inning. So, which Garcia do we get? Not sure if it really matters the way the Astros are raking. They've scored EIGHTEEN runs the last two games and 31 so far in the series. Boston will send Nathan Eovaldi to the hill, which is the same exact matchup from game two. Eovaldi was okay, not great, allowing 3 earned and 5 hits in 5 innings. In his only regular season start against Houston, he was RIPPED for ELEVEN hits and 5 earned in just 5 innings. Gotta go with the HOT sticks and the 'Stros are EN FUEGO!
Love a team with a chip on its shoulder, and that would be the 76ers. The 24/7 drama surrounding Ben Simmons has taken all the air out of the room, but that looks like it might be a good thing. There are a bunch of serious pieces in Philly, starting with Joel Embiid. Probably one of the top 10 players in the league, and now he has a solid cast of running mates. Tobias Harris, Seth Curry, Tyrese Maxey and Furkan Korkmaz can all fill it up, and Doc Rivers knows how to coach it up. One more thing before I let you go. The Sixers were MONEY at home, with a 29-7 record which was tops in the East. The Nets played twice at Philly last season, losing both. Not sure who is gonna ring the bell before the games starts, it's always a secret, but Rocky, Sylvester Stallone, might just be in the building. Gotta drop a Benjamin on the 76ers.
Oops. Might be a never mind. Just got a text telling me my guy Embiid is questionable with a knee. Obviously, if Joel does not go, we DO NOT open the wallet.
