Las Vegas - Gotta get you up early for some football, then stay awake for some football. The first game of football, soccer if you wanna be very American, is Tottenham vs. Sheffield United. Despite an absolute hatred for my wife's favorite team, gonna back the Hotspur at home against the Blades. Everyone, especially Mrs. Ecks & Bacon, thought that when Harry Kane flew off to join Bayern Munich, that the Spurs would be just MEH. Well, there's NO meh in North London. Tottenham has won three straight league matches, outscoring the opposition 9-2. First year manager Ange Postecoglou has the Spurs jazzed and ready roll.
Back to football in the States, and we're dropping some cash on Kansas State -3.5 points over Missouri. K-State comes to Columbia with a 2-0 record and has outscored the opposition 87-13. Of course, the teams they beat, Southeast Missouri and Troy are not exactly top shelf, but 87-13 is 87-13 no matter who you play. Missouri is also 2-0, but wins over South Dakota (35-10) and Middle Tennessee State (23-19) have not convinced us that the Tigers can hang in this spot. The Wildcats smothered the Tigers last year in Manhattan, 40-12, and while we're not expecting a 28 point final margin, thinking that K-State is at least a touchdown better than Mizzou. And if you're buying, PLZ grab the hook, and take the game down to -3.
