Las Vegas - This is what you were gonna read...
If you're reading this, there's a game seven baby, which is exactly as it should be with this crazy, entertaining, and with a nod to Jack Buck, the "I don’t believe what I just saw" World Series. It'll be a rematch of game three with Walker Buehler against Charlie Morton. Buehler didn't take a day off, sorry, had to do that, and was EN FUEGO, allowing only 3 hits, 1 earned run and posting 10 Ks in 6 innings of work. Walker's numbers for the entire post-season border on PHENOMENAL, with two wins, no losses and a skinny 1.80 ERA.
Charlie Morton, actually, Charlie 'Freaking' Morton, had been pitching even better than Buehler in the playoffs the last two years. Working 25 innings, allowing only 2 earned runs, for an INVISIBLE 0.72 ERA. Then game three happened, and Morton was rocked by the Dodgers. He gave up 7 hits and 5 earned in just 4 innings.
So, the question is, can Buehler continue his staggering run, or will Charlie find his FREAKING again? Not to be redundant, but, since I have the Rays to win the series as a pretty solid size underdog, think I'll just buy me some L.A. and call it a season.
NEVERMIND!!!
