Las Vegas - Pablo Lopez is the ace of Minnesota's staff, but he was not pitching like an ace. Until the end of June. In his last two starts, Lopez has been ALL ACES, throwing 15 innings (0.60 ERA), allowing ONLY 1 earned run and posting 18 Ks. Oakland will counter with Hogan Harris and the rookie has had some issues the last three times on the hill. Double H has been rocked for 22 hits and 15 earned runs in just 14 innings of work.

For your wagering pleasure, here is your spread stat of the day. How much impact does Mike Trout have on the Angels? Well, since Trout was injured, the Halos have NOT won a game (0-6), and even with Mike, they had dropped 10 of their last 11.

*HORSE RACING*

After a rainy Friday which culminated in scratches and off the turf racing with a a nice day but keep your fingers crossed!
Start with the first race. #1 Pirate goes first out for trainer Todd Pletcher. Although the rail position can be tough on first time starters this Omaha Beach colt shows two fast gate works, so as long as he breaks clean he should be in great position either on the lead or stalking. Pletcher is 20% with first time starters, 21% with 2 year olds, and 27% with jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. The bet will be $25 win and place and a $5 exacta wheel 1 with all. I will also play a $20 daily double 1 with #5 in the second race.
In the second, #5 is Talkin Pharoah. Hot trainer/jockey combo of Linda Rice and Jose Ortiz won the first race on opening day (Thursday) and the last race yesterday. Should be a gate to wire winner. Lets play $25 win on #5 Talkin Pharoah and a $5 exacta wheel #5 with all.
In the third, I want to take a shot with # 11 Best Performer. I'm a big fan of trainer Joe Sharp, who sent out the first race winner yesterday in Concerti. So I'll wager $20 win, place, and show on #11, and a $5 exacta wheel #11 with all.
In the fourth, it's the Grade 1 Diana. Last year #2 In Italian won last year's running of the Diana and it looks like she will go back to back. Met her trainer Chad Brown at Nove restaurant on Thursday night . In Italian has run double digit Beyers in her last five races. Looks to be the lock of the day! Will feel the sizzle of the Vegas heat with a Benjamin Lee ($100) on the nose of #2 In Italian.
The other feature race of the day is the 9th race Grade 3 Sanford. #9 Gold Sweep posted a 91 speed Beyer in winning his last race by 9 lengths! Hall of Fame trainer Steve Assmussen sends out Good Sweep and top jock Jose Ortiz will be in the irons! So let's play $100 to win on #9 Gold Sweep and hope to catch a long shot for second with a $5 exacta wheel.
Good luck
